Tapish, VP - IIMAvericks, leads university & early stage start-up initiatives at CIIE. He has a diverse experience in consulting, public policy & entrepreneurship. Prior to CIIE, he was part of the global IOT Strategy team at Schneider Electric. He has a keen interest in the intersection of business and policy and has spent time in the government as an aide to Prof. PJ Kurien, Deputy Chairman of the upper house of the Indian Parliament, assisting him on Legislative and policy matters. Tapish holds a degree in management from the University of Delhi, and a Masters in International Business (MIB) from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, where he was designated an Emerging Markets Scholar.
Vipul Patel leads CIIE's Seed team and joined CIIE in 2012. He began his career at Aditya Birla Group as a Chemical Engineer in the fertilizer division based in Gujarat. Prior to joining CIIE in 2010, he also co-founded e-commerce startup. He holds an MBA from the NIRMA University, and a BE in Chemical Engineering from Sardar Patel University.
Yash works as an Associate - Startup Support in CIIE. He is responsible for developing different models of engagement to help startups scale. His areas of interests include human-centered design, go-to-market strategy for startups, financial modelling and has worked extensively with startups to gain market access and network support.
Prior to joining CIIE, Yash was worked with social enterprises and non-profits setting up their operations and partnerships. He is an alumnus of Institute of Rural Management, Anand.
Meera Siva is an independent consultant and co-founder of RaNa Investment Advisors. She has 16 years of engineering design experience in the US, over 10 patents to her name and over 6 years of financial analysis experience in US and Indian companies (private and public). She has covered US based education, tech/e-com start-ups for GSV Advisors; listed companies in realty, education, infra, entertainment, logistics and metals/mining in India. She was the CTO of an Indian hardware company (acquired). She is a columnist at The Hindu Business Line (real estate). She volunteers for the CFA Society, CEG Alumni Center and India Literacy Project. She is a CFA Charter holder and has a Masters in Computer Engineering (US).
Sandeep Khapre is the CEO of BDO East Africa. Sandeep has successfully led teams in the Business Advisory and Transaction Advisory practice for over 25 years.
Prior to BDO he worked in the industry at several senior positions for eight years, focusing on strategic planning, design and implementation of emerging technology solutions and operations.
Sandeep has worked in 17 countries across Africa and is keenly engaged in the start-up ecosystem there. He is a mentor in many accelerators and is considered a key expert in valuation of early stage businesses and scale-up companies. He also helps investors understand their possible investment strategies as well as expected financial returns in start-ups, especially in the African context.
Jonas Tesfu is a serial entrepreneur and investor. He is CEO and Co-Founder of Pangea Accelerator. Jonas Tesfu has a strong business and management background from P&G & Ericsson and has experience working with investments in emerging markets and Impact Investments. Jonas is a strong voice in the Norwegian startup scene, board member of Polyteknisk Forening and alumni at 500 startups and finalist in Angel Challenge.
Furthermore, he travels the world consulting on Innovation, speaks at conferences and teaches workshops on various topics at events including Oslo Innovation Week, Startup Safari Berlin, Nairobi Innovation Week as well as working with clients including P&G, The Norwegian Patent Office, Kongsberg Innovation, Ericsson and NAV amongst others. He has been involved in 500 Startups Accelerator, The Fintech Factory Accelerator, Angel Challenge, GreenTech Accelerator, SmartOslo Accelerator and many more.
Anne is an accomplished project development strategist and solution-oriented person who thrives in challenging, fast paced environments where her performance directly impacts the community targeted through bottom-up approach. She is the Team Lead at Pangea Accelerator. She previously worked as the Head of Incubation and Partnerships at Nailab Accelerator, among leading incubators and accelerators in Kenya. In addition, she has solid organizational leadership and decision-making skills that make an immediate contribution to the operations and business development.
She also has core competency in business development, management and project implementation, with thought leadership and invaluable experience in initiating, implementing and managing complex projects throughout project lifecycle in both private sector and non-governmental organizations in East Africa.
Bernard Chiira is the Incubator Manager at Strathmore University’s @iBizAfrica in Nairobi Kenya with reputable experience in general incubator management, Startup incubation and acceleration, project management, digital marketing and research. He has also worked as an instructor in Strathmore University’s Faculty of IT and Digital Advertising Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Information Technology, and a Master Degree in Mobile Telecommunication and Innovation from Strathmore University.
He is passionate about innovation, mentorship and supporting entrepreneurs to succeed in in building successful Startups and also has interest in working with Startups building tech solutions to solve complex and day-to-day problems.
